Carlo Alberto Brondin

Carlo Alberto joined the CHIRAX project at the beginning of 2026 as postdoctoral fellow of CNR-ISM . He obtained his PhD in Chemistry in 2024 through a joint doctoral scholarship between Ca’ Foscari University of Venice and the University of Trieste. During his doctoral studies, he conducted his research at Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste, at the Nanospectroscopy beamline, where he investigated graphene–ferromagnet hybrid systems by advanced spectromicroscopy techniques.

His research interests include the development of advanced instrumentation for the investigation of magneto-optical properties of materials, both in situ and ex situ, as well as thin-film growth by techniques such as Molecular Beam Epitaxy (MBE) and Pulsed Laser Deposition (PLD).

Following the completion of his PhD, he was appointed Postdoctoral Researcher at CNR-ISM (Trieste), where he’s further strengthening his expertise in synchrotron-radiation-based spectroscopic techniques, including XMCD, XAS, XPS, and ARPES. Within the CHIRAX project, he will contribute to the development of advanced instrumentation for synchrotron XUV spectroscopies for the Molecular and Optical Science and Technology beamline presently under construction at Elettra2.0.
