Marcello Coreno

Marcello Coreno is a research scientist at CNR-ISM, of the Italian National Research Council, focusing on atomic, molecular, and optical (AMO) physics. His work explores the electronic structure and dynamics of atomic and molecular interactions to help clarifying reactive processes at the microscopic level.  At Elettra he carries out experimental investigations on isolated systems of increasing complexity (atoms, molecules, nanoparticles, as well as  diluted targets in solution), and he develops advanced instrumentation for synchrotron XUV spectroscopies, leading the atomic and molecular physics beamline (formerly GasPhase, now MOST within the Elettra 2.0 upgrade plan). He has managed international projects across research infrastructures like Elettra, FERMI, and CITIUS, and oversees the Trieste branch of CNR-ISM. His scientific contributions include over 400 publications in journals, proceedings, and conference presentations  (ORCID profile: 0000-0003-4376-808X) .
